Parish Mission Statement

We, the faithful of Holy Saviour Church, an established National Italian Parish, made to the image and likeness of Christ through Baptism, and strengthened in our faith by the Holy Spirit, openly accept and believe all the teachings of Christ and His Church.

We will strive to do all we can to build the Kingdom of God in our lives, our homes, our parish and our society in order to renew our love for God and our neighbor.

We joyfully proclaim ourselves as a community that:

• worships God by sincere participation in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass; strengthening and increasing our faith through the sacraments; using the gifts of the Holy Spirit within us; and fostering a prayerful love and devotion to Mary, the Mother of God;

• strives to nourish and unite the family through the Bond of Faith so that we will give the faithful every opportunity to develop a deeper relationship with God.

• proclaims the Good News by being called to bring the light of Jesus, the power of the Gospel and the fire of the Holy Spirit into our Parish community; setting a good example in our daily lives; and living the Commandments of God and the precepts of the Church.

• seeks to teach others as Jesus taught us by family prayer in the home, the study of Sacred Scripture, and on-going religious education, with special concern for our youth, the future of our Church, in order to enable us to implement the teachings of Christ in our changing society.

• serves those in need by recognizing the dignity and infinite value of everyone through acts of charity and being concerned about the spiritual and physical needs, especially of the poor, sick and elderly, in order to satisfy their hunger and thirst for God.

We pray for strength and courage under the guidance of the Father, Son & Holy Spirit through the intercession of Mary, our Blessed Mother and through our devotion to the Holy Saviour, our Parish Patron.

May the love and the peace of God lead all of us to His eternal Kingdom in Heaven.
