C.C.DC.C.D. (Confraternity of Christian Doctrine) is a catechetical system designed for local Catholic parish communities. Its purpose is to prepare children of the parish, who attend public school, for the reception of the Sacraments of Penance, Holy Eucharist, and Confirmation. Through C.C.D. classes, the catechists (teachers) endeavor to strengthen the students' knowledge of their Catholic Faith and to encourage the practice of their faith. Diligent care is taken to faithfully present the entire treasure of the Christian message. All its essential elements are presented as a whole, even in the initial stages of religious education. In the beginning, this presentation is simple, adapted to the limited capacity and experience of young children. Then it is progressively deepened and broadened in accordance with the level of the children's development. The C.C.D. meets Monday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. in the school. C.C.D. includes Levels 1 to 7. |
